LakeWood Builders, LLC.
Our Story

Over 20 years ago, our founder, Marty, was fresh out of the Navy and travelling all over the country working in the telecommunications industry. Three years later, he got tired of being away from his family and missing out on important events. He knew that he needed to make a change to his career path. After having a bad experience with a contractor, Marty knew he wanted to be able to help other people in need of a good and reliable contractor. From that day forward, he had one goal: creating quality homes that last a lifetime.

Two decades later, LakeWood Builders is now a family-owned business! Marty has two of his children working alongside him, with the goal of keeping the company alive for another generation. With the experience Marty has and the innovation of a new generation, LakeWood Builders continues to strive toward excellence in all we do.

The custom home process is unique. We pride ourselves on building quality, value, and individualism for each and every customer. Our team treats all of our customers with respect, and we promise to listen to your needs and desires throughout the entire building process.

We looking forward to working with you!

Our Process

1

Let's Talk:

During this phase we’ll get acquainted with seeing if we are a fit for each other, diving deep into your vision, and making sure that we “get it.” We’ll talk schedule, your role in the project, and what you can expect from us. We’ll be unfailingly honest — telling you what will be fun — and what won’t. And we’ll leave you with a complete guidance kit full of useful information to help you understand not only who we are but also how projects like yours work.

2

Professional Service Agreement:

Prior to entering a Construction Agreement together, there will be pre-construction processes for which there will be fees. These pre-construction processes will be handled with what i called a Professional Services Agreement or PSA. Your PSA will usually include costs for doing a detailed estimate that assures you of a quality, completed project at a guaranteed price. The PSA does not obligate you to enter into a Construction Agreement with us and you own the results of the  design work covered by the PSA.

3

Project Development:

With all or most of the results of the PSA work in hand, we will meet with you to talk through the project. We will take all the time you want to be comfortable and confident. We'll go over the scope of work, project plan, progress payments, timelines, logistics, and concerns.

4

Construction Agreement:

We will now have all the information to provide a guaranteed price for your project, you will have signed off on the design and production plan. We will provide an Agreement for our mutual signatures. We will go over and explain every detail of our straightforward Agreement.

5

Project Management:

During the building phase, we will handle all the details of ordering materials, scheduling, oversight, and coordination. Concurrently we will diligently keep you up to date of progress and issues.

6

In-Process Changes:

No matter how carefully we plan your project together you will probably want to make some changes along the way. We are prepared to cheerfully accommodate any changes you want to make. Our Agreement will explain how costs associated with your changes will be handled.

7

Project Completion:

During this completion phase, we will meticulously inspect the house to ensure that the craftsmanship level has been maintained throughout the project. We will have a final review meeting with you to answer any operational questions. We will do a final clean-up to the highest standards possible both within the project and anything on the property that we touched. We will set up a document for yo to list anything you might run across that wasn't up to standard.

8

Warranty:

We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty, 2-year systems (AC, plumbing, electrical) warranty, and a 10-year foundation and structural warranty on the project that is transferable. In 3 months, we will check in with you and address any issues that have surfaced.  After 11 months, we will come back and do a complete home inspection before the warranty is over so we can address anything additional. Sheets will be left behind so that you can fill them out as you see things versus trying to remember it all when we come back.
