When the need arose to build a new home after the unexpected sale of our previous home, I contacted friends and relatives that I knew that were more familiar with the builders in the area than we were. Several of the people I talked to recommended the same builder, Marty Williams of LakeWood Builders.
We mane an appointment and sat down with Marty and discussed our ideas and told Marty of our needs. After our discussion, Marty told us that he had access to someone who could draw up the plans and would work with us in getting them just right. In less than a month we had finalized a plan that incorporated our ideas and several of Marty's suggestions as well. We broke ground shortly thereafter.
From the day that ground was broken I was extremely pleased with the work that was being done in a timely manner, and in a manner that I knew was right. In just a matter of 4 weeks after the concrete was poured we were dried in. It needs to be understood that our home is a true custom home involving a lot of non-traditional work - it is full of curves and angles, with a spiral staircase, and a great deal of tile was laid both on the floors and in the baths.
Needless to say we are thrilled with our new home. It turned out much nicer than even we expected. The cabinets and wood work are gorgeous and fitting of a home of this caliber. Attention to detail all around was beyond our expectations. One of the truly great things is that it actually cost what we were told - there were no surprises at the end of the job. Marty and Brad worked well with us in allowing us to choose and purchase many of the components of our home.
We would be happy to recommend Lakewood Builders to anyone. I have no doubt that you will have the same good experience that we did.

In 2006 my wife and I were looking to build a home. We met with Bradley and Marty to kick around some ideas on what we wanted They were very informative on the latest building supplies and many new and various technologies. We had several bids done by various local contractors. Lakewood’s bid was by far the most detailed and included all the upper end items we were looking for. We accepted their bid and were off and running.
On May, 20 2006 we poured the slab and on September 15th were completely moved in. Marty and Bradley stayed on top of everything the whole time and were right on budget all the way. These guys stand by their work and they are also honest, dependable, trustworthy and efficient. They got the job done in a timely manner and with great attention to detail and quality.

LakeWood Builders is an excellent choice to build you custom home.
WHY? They will assist you with your plans to be sure you get the custom home with all details that you will enjoy. They built our home from the foundation up with the best grade of materials for the job with excellent workmanship. The interior painting was done in detail with the exact colors we selected. Plumbing and fixtures were of the grade we selected and properly installed.
LakeWood Builders built a great custom house for me including a automatic standby generator. They can and would do the same for you.

My husband and I stopped by LakeWood Builders one day last summer and talked with Marty Williams about building a lake home for us. He was so polite and helpful. We told him that this would just be a weekend place, and we told him a little bit about what we wanted.
Marty had some suggestions that were great. I can tell you the best thing about using a custom builder is Lakewood Builders builds your dream home not his.
It was no time before we had plans. They broke ground, and before we knew it the house was going up.
We can not say enough about Marty and everyone that helped build our house. The workmanship was great - from the custom cabinets to the wonderful deck that overlooks the lake. Every thing is just as we wanted.
Before choosing LakeWood Builders we talked with many builders in the Livingston area, and I can truthfully say we chose the right one. If at any time something was not the way we wanted it, Marty took care of it right away.
We have been entertaining at our lake house for about four months now, and we have had so many wonderful compliments on our home.

We had a home built by Marty Williams at Lakewood Builders. The experience of homebuilding was new to us, so we received several bids. Yes, we did receive bids lower than Marty's, but the other homebuilders could not hold a candle to the quality of work we saw at Lakewood Builders. What they said was what they did.
Our home was built in 4 months with minimal problems and those were corrected immediately after contacting Marty. We felt very comfortable dealing with Lakewood Builders, and we feel our interest was always considered first.
I would highly recommend Lakewood Builders to anyone.

Having a home built can be an arduous task, especially if the owner-to-be lives in another state. However, we found the entire process to be easy because of the work of Marty Williams and Lakewood Builders (formerly LoneStar Construction). The company was always diligent, efficient, and dependable. They sent us weekly emails as to the progress and also pictures. The home was built in a timely manner and we were and still are pleased with the results and workmanship.

This past summer, we selected LakeWood Builders to build an addition onto our lake cabin. I had never been involved in a building project, so I looked to LakeWood for suggestions and guidance as to what was reasonable. The project is now completed and we are pleased with every aspect of the expansion. Marty and Brad were a pleasure to work with and the quality and finish work of the expansion was excellent. We have been in our home for over a year and we are very satisfied with the workmanship of Lakewood Builders. We took bids from 2 other builders, but we picked Lakewood Builders because of the professionalism Marty showed us when we first met him. Marty is a young man with integrity, honesty, and he does what he says he will do. Building our custom house with Lakewood Builders became a pleasant experience. My husband and I are perfectionist and Marty & Brad understood from the start they were dealing with two very difficult people. Marty nor Brad ever lost their patience. We made several changes in the process, but Marty & Brad took their time to come out, listen to us and make the changes without ever acting upset with us.
The house plans we provided them did not have any electrical, plumbing, or HVAC blueprints. Lakewood Builders took the plans and figured it out without the blueprints. Brad and Marty suggested neat ideas to us, of which we never thought about. I am proud of our house and I have no complaints on how well it is built. Lakewood Builders crew always called us by name and answered any questions we had. Each crew member were mannerly and polite. Lakewood Builders took their time to do the work correctly and still meet the time frame of completion.
All our friends and family are impressed when they walk into our home. I would recommend and have recommended many people to use Lakewood Builders. Finding a good builder that listens to you and builds everything to suit you, makes the experience a breeze. After interviewing several builders in the Livingston area, we decided to use Lakewood Builders. They have proven to be an excellent choice. They helped us find an architect to draw up our house plans, and are extremely knowledgeable about the logistics of building a home from start to finish. They started building on time and have accomplished everything we have asked of them in a timely fashion. Our home is built like a fortress; it is a superior piece of work. Marty has been very cooperative and easy to work with. He makes sure that the customer is happy with his work, or he has it redone until the customer is satisfied. Our home is everything I dreamed of, and if I ever decide to build again, I will definitely use Lakewood Builders.

BRAVO! BRAVO! If Lakewood Builders were an opera this would be a standing ovation, black-tie and all. We are so thrilled with our new home. Before choosing Lakewood Builders to build my home I probably had one million + 1 questions - almost and each one was answered fully. I have been pleased with both the quality of work, materials, and ethical standards. During the building process, I saw some of the workers who happened to be doing whatever was going on at the time; and without fail each one introduced themselves and checked to see if I were pleased with what they were in the process of working on. I realize they were accountable to people paying them, but they also wanted me to be happy with their work.
